Highrise Votes

The Heights Issue
This came to Council in October 2020. The vote was 6-all so it was defeated. Those who voted against height limits were: Zucco, Behrakis, Sexton, Thomas, Ewin, Coats.

It's worth noting that, during the last elections in 2018, Ald Damon Thomas made a committment to support height limits. He also distributed a leaflet supporting height limits. He then voted the other way.

In this term of Council (since 2018) a number of highrise towers came to Council:

The planning officers said 'refuse', the Council said 'refuse', the Appeals Tribunal said 'refuse'. Zucco, Behrakis, and Sherlock voted in favour.

Fragrance Elizabeth Street
The planning officers said 'refuse', the Council said 'refuse'. Zucco & Behrakis voted in favour.

202 - 206 Macquarie Street
The planning officers said 'refuse', the Council said 'refuse'. Zucco & Behrakis voted in favour.

63 Davey Street
The planning officers said 'refuse', the Council said 'refuse'. Zucco, Behrakis, and Coats voted in favour.

New Town Private Hospital at the Planning Committee (Aug.2020)
The planning officers said 'refuse', the Planning Committee said 'refuse'. Behrakis voted in favour.
